Spring has finally arrived and we can all start to THINK and TALK about weddings again!

Weddings around this time of year can be beautiful but the weather can be very unpredictable. Weather aside (as we all know UK weather can be unpredictable all year round), there are many reasons why Spring is an ideal season to say ‘I do’.
It’s the first splash of colour from spring flowers poking out from the ground, blossoms are blossoming and butterflies start to emerge creating a perfect theme for Spring weddings.
If you are on a BUDGET Spring is an ideal season to get married. It’s cheaper to bag the venue you want…at a third of the price! Perfect for church weddings and if you book over Easter, you can take advantage of the Easter flowers that will adorn the church. Result!
REMEMBER – the weather can be very changeable and so it might be wise to purchase a pretty stole or bolero jacket to go with your dress. Goosebumps are not a good look! Nor are runny noses and streaming eyes so don’t forget to take along some antihistamines in your wedding emergency bag if you are prone to suffering from hay fever as the pollen count can be high during this time of year!
Spring COLOURS – from muted hues of pinks, blues, lilacs and greens mixed with more vibrant colours of orange, fuchsia, purple and bright yellow.
Spring FLOWERS – there are so many to chose from. Tulips, Roses, Foxglove, Irises, Primrose, Bluebells, Daffodils, Crocuses to name but a few. My personal favourite are blossoms…
DECORATIONS – introduce mossy table decorations, pretty pots filled with grape hyacinths and violas and pretty yellow daffodils and gorgeous tête-à-tête. Garden herbs also work well – a sprig of rosemary or lavender wrapped in your guests napkins. It’s simple and this will make the room smell nice too. Perfect!
If you are getting married over Easter, then the Easter theme is a must….even if it’s just a hint. Think cute little rabbits, fluffy yellow chicks and not forgetting those chocolate eggs. Maybe have large branches or a wishing tree with delicate painted eggs hanging from them with pretty ribbon.
If you’re having an outdoor wedding and a fair amount of children, a may pole does double duty as entertainment and elegant decoration.
Happy Planning!
With Love
